These centres have very high-speed internet access and are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and servers themselves have built-in backup and redundancy to ensure that any downtime is extremely unlikely.

Avec’s standard hosting packages include domain registration and renewal fees as well as a professional website hosting plan:

• full web hosting control panel

With full control panel access, you can easily manage your hosting account as well as take website backups (via FTP) and MySQL database backups.

For those who would prefer their backups done for them, we also offer an optional enhanced CMS hosting package providing quarterly full site backups and weekly database backups, as well as regular security patches and upgrades to the Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress CMS systems and any third-party extensions installed.

We offer not-for-profit organisations a 33% discount on our hosting rates, and discounts apply for additional domains registered by the same client, whether for separate websites or for use as domain 'aliases'.

New 'Green Hosting'

We are delighted to annouce the immediately availability of our new environmentally-friendly web hosting packages.

We have partnered with one of the handful of data centres in the world that are actually 'off grid' and fully powered by renewable energy (in this case, wind), so the new hosting packages aren't based on somewhat controversial carbon 'offsets', but are essentially carbon-free.

At the same time, we are striving to reduce the overall energy consumption of the servers used, and steadily improving all aspects of our environmental performance.

Now, as you might expect, investment in renewable energy doesn't come cheap, and the cost of delivering the new green hosting will be considerably more expensive for us.

Nevertheless, as a reflection of our strong value base and our commitment to the wider community sector, we are making these new green hosting packages available at the same price as our existing offerings.
